Article ImageWith a new garden design comes a wonderful opportunity to utilise your outside space to the full and add value to your property.

It may be that you have plentiful specific requirements. Alternatively, you may have no idea what you want other than to turn your under-utilised space into something beautiful.

To enable you to achieve this, I offer a comprehensive range of services from one-off consultations for inspiration to a full design and implementation package.

Initial consultation prior to design work – here we discuss what  you want from your garden, how the garden will be used, your personal style and budget.

I will spend time getting a clear understanding of your requirements by listening to you and asking the right questions.

Specialist services - if the project requires it, I can introduce lighting, water or drainage experts.

Site survey – prior to starting the design process I will carry out a detailed survey of your existing plot. For extremely large or unusually complex sites, the survey may be done by a Chartered Land Surveyor.Article Image

Concept design plan – I will present to you for discussion an accurate scaled drawing showing in concept, the location of all elements of the new design. Your input at this stage is welcomed and can be incorporated into the final plan.

Outline design plan – once you are happy with the plan in concept, I will prepare a detailed design, including 3-D representations if requested, which will really help you to visualise your completed garden.

Planting schemes - with each plant individually chosen, I will create for you an attractive planting plan to suit your specific garden conditions, personal taste and maintenance requirements.

Construction drawings – if required, I will produce technical drawings to ensure that a landscape contractor can construct all elements within the garden precisely as designed.

Tender process - in managing the tender process, I will produce the necessary documentation to enable selected contractors to tender on a like for like basis and I will respond to their queries. I am able to provide you with a list of reputable contractors if you do not already have your own.

Article ImageProject monitoring – after a plan is approved and a contractor appointed, I can monitor work through to completion for your peace of mind.

After-care advice – once your lovely new garden is built and the plants are thriving, I can advise on long term maintenance and development.

Consultations – for inspiration to kick start your own project, to give advice on dealing with a problem area or to rejuvenate a tired border, I can provide one-off or occasional consultations.

Existing planting consultation – you may be largely happy with your garden as it is but perhaps you are unfamiliar with the plants or how to care for them. I can study your garden with you to identify what you have in your borders and provide you with maintenance advice and plant replacement suggestions if necessary.

My aim is to be completely open about my fee structure, so that there are no surprises. Full details are contained in my terms and conditions, sent to all new clients.

Initial consultation - there will be a charge of £100 for this consultation. This fee will be offset against the price of commissioned design work, so becoming free should you wish to proceed.
Design fees – having spent time with you getting a clear brief, I will provide you with a detailed fee quotation for every stage of the design process for which I am to be engaged.
Other services – charged at an hourly rate of £75 per hour.
